School Closures 2004
Consolidation Project
Project Overview
School Consolidation 2004 impacted 11 sites - 4 donor sites and 7 receiving sites. From the 4 donor sites, 13 buildings - 22 classrooms were vacated, relocated, and stored for future use. Also, at the 2 receiving sites, there were 2 buildings - 4 classrooms that were vacated, relocated, and stored for future use. Depending on the type of building, concrete or wood foundations were constructed at the receiving site and all utilities were connected. Each building and ramp was painted to match existing and included all new floor coverings. All low voltage and fire alarm systems were installed. As part of the consolidation project ICS coordinated all forms with DSA. It included seven (7) different sites broken into four (4) separate DSA project tracking numbers with one General Contractor and one contract amount. ICS generated DSA form 5's for two (2) separate inspectors as well as DSA form 6's for each consultant per project tracking number. As part of the bidding documents and approved schedule of values, ICS was able to break the contract amount down and separate it to match the four (4) related project tracking numbers. ICS had to generate Change Orders sequentially not only to accommodate the internal District accounting department, but also for DSA to track changes per project tracking number. ICS successfully completed the close-out for all four (4) projects and has received the Close & Certification from DSA. |
